VieSky (Yến Sào Thiên Việt) is one of Vietnam’s leading producers of premium bird’s nest products, with a portfolio of brands including Yến Sào Thiên Việt, Kid’s Nest Plus, Kid’s Nest Smart, Just Nest, Daily Nest, Hồng Sâm Vitagin, and more. The company has established an extensive distribution network across many provinces and cities nationwide.

Yến Sào Thiên Việt delivers high-quality products made with natural nutrition from 100% Hội An bird’s nest, with the ambition of contributing to better health and well-being for Vietnamese families.

THE OPERATIONAL PAIN POINTS

With the mission of bringing “Nature’s Finest Nutrition for Family Health,” Thiên Việt offers premium bird’s nest products designed to meet the nutritional needs of every member of the family.

That mission, however, comes with significant operational challenges, and logistics was one of the most pressing.

Coordination between departments was not fully synchronized, while information flows lacked standardization. This could lead to inaccurate data, delayed order processing, and fragmented operations. Many decisions and plans still had to be prepared manually and depended heavily on individual experience, creating constant pressure for the operations team.

These challenges could not be solved overnight. However, VieSky’s leadership recognized that transformation was necessary to turn logistics from a recurring operational burden into a competitive capability across the entire supply chain.

This was also where Smartlog came in as a technology partner with strong logistics expertise and a shared ambition to accelerate digital transformation in supply chain operations.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

VieSky positioned 2021 as a year of innovation in customer service management.

Smartlog Warehouse Management System (SWM) became an important part of VieSky’s broader digital transformation roadmap, helping strengthen operational capabilities and support the company’s competitive position in Vietnam’s bird’s nest industry.

Smartlog and VieSky aligned on several key project objectives:

  • Manage all warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and inventory, in a synchronized and real-time manner through SWM.

  • Automate warehouse processes, including putaway location assignment, picking, counting, and outbound execution.

  • Standardize barcode usage and introduce handheld devices to enable paperless warehouse operations.

  • Increase distribution center productivity.

  • Improve operational performance while reducing risks during picking and distribution to customers.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in just three months. Although the COVID-19 pandemic created significant obstacles during implementation, it did not slow down the commitment to digitizing warehouse operations.

A COMPREHENSIVE WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

A high-performing supply chain requires strong alignment between processes, organization, and systems.

For VieSky, information technology became a critical foundation, working alongside standardized processes and management controls to strengthen overall supply chain capabilities.

RAW MATERIAL INBOUND MANAGEMENT

  • 100% of inbound materials, including packaging, bottle caps, and raw materials, are managed using pallet or carton QR codes.

  • Warehouse staff use handheld devices to record received quantities.

RAW MATERIAL OUTBOUND MANAGEMENT

  • Raw material outbound activities are managed 100% through the system.

  • Each plastic container corresponds to the materials required for a specific production order.

  • QR codes are scanned when materials are issued.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

  • Production teams use handheld devices to record product quantities after each production stage, such as sterilization and cooling.

  • Handheld devices are also used to classify products by status, such as accepted, Grade 1, or damaged.

  • Products are managed by individual plastic trays.

SEMI-FINISHED GOODS MANAGEMENT

  • 100% of semi-finished bottles and pouches are managed through unique plastic-container IDs.

  • Warehouse staff can use handheld devices to inspect products and perform inbound or outbound transactions for packaging activities.

  • All bottles and pouches are tightly controlled by lot number, production date, and expiry date through the warehouse management system.

FINISHED GOODS MANAGEMENT

  • 100% of finished-goods cartons are assigned a unique QR code after packaging.

  • Warehouse staff use handheld devices to scan, inspect, receive, and manage inventory.

  • Finished-goods cartons are managed by pallet and stored in the finished-goods warehouse.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

  • The highest level of internal management accuracy achieved to date.

  • More accurate monitoring of product and packaging flows.
