SMARTLOG - IGARASHI OFFICIALLY KICK OFF THE SWM IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT INTEGRATED WITH DAIFUKU ASRS AUTOMAT

Recently, Smartlog Supply Chain Solutions Corporation (Smartlog) and Igarashi held a project kick-off meeting, marking the commencement of the implementation of Smartlog Warehouse Management (SWM). A key highlight of the project is the integration of SWM with the Daifuku’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) through the Warehouse Control System (WCS), supporting the development of a modern, connected, and highly automated cold storage operation.

The ceremony brought together senior leaders from Igarashi Reizo, the parent company, and Igarashi’s operations in Thailand and Vietnam. Distinguished attendees included Mr. Igarashi - President of Igarashi Reizo; Mr. Yamagishi - Managing Director of Igarashi Reizo; Mr. Shimizu - President and Representative of Igarashi Thailand and Vietnam; Mr. Hirota - Deputy General Director of Igarashi Vietnam; and Mr. Dung, Director of Igarashi Vietnam.

Smartlog’s management and project implementation team also attended the ceremony, marking the official start of the partnership. The event provided an opportunity for both parties to align on the project's objectives, scope, and implementation approach.

About the SWM Implementation Project

Under this project, Smartlog will implement Smartlog Warehouse Management (SWM) to digitalize and centralize key cold storage operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, outbound processing, and product traceability.

A key technological highlight of the Igarashi project is the bidirectional integration of Smartlog Warehouse Management (SWM) with Daifuku’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) through the Warehouse Control System (WCS), enabling seamless coordination between warehouse management and automated material handling operations to enhance overall warehouse efficiency. 

SWM will manage inventory data, storage locations, and warehouse workflows, while WCS will receive and execute operational commands through the automated storage system. This integration is designed to synchronize data between warehouse management software and physical automation equipment, improve accuracy, reduce manual handling, and enhance cold storage efficiency.

In addition, SWM will support inventory management by storage location, batch, and expiry date, strengthening stock visibility and product traceability. Together, these capabilities aim to establish a transparent, integrated, and scalable cold storage management platform capable of supporting large-scale operations.
